Letter to Musician

Dear Eminem,

My name is Jocelyn and I have been a fan of yours since I first heard your song "When I'm Gone" some years back. I have your mos recent CD and have about all of them including your new songs memorized. Most of your music really speaks to me and I hope you will share my opinion on free downloads to share your music with more people. Free downloads cause a positive effect on the music industry because you can get exposure, people don't have that much money which in includes your main audience of teens, and the people can preview the songs to ensure they like them.

Exposure is a huge part of why you should allow free downloads. The more exposure you have the more fans worldwide you'll get. Getting more fans will cause a chain reaction that benefits you. More fans equall more people out there craving your music which will in turn mean more money for you. This is because those fans will buy your CD's, buy your merchandise, and buy your concert tickets. Apart from all the money you will make, by having more and more fans you ensure your career will keep prospering.

Also a big part of your fans are teenagers that don't work or are barely starting to work. To keep them as fans when they grow older you should provide them with free music doawnloads for the specific songs you chose. you should be able to chose which songs you want, but make sure there are songs out there. In addition, these people dthat don't have enough money to be wasting a dollar on every song would rather buy your album, but these people need to like your music first and a free download will let them like them enough to buy it.

Lastly, people can preview your songs through free downloads to ensure they want the music your offering. If they like your music they'll end up buying the CD or down loading it and paying for it for the better sound quality. If they don't like it you don't want people leaving bad reviews or returning your CD's, so it's better to allow free downloads. Also, you don't want people buying and then returning your CD's because they only wanted a specific song.

Allowing people to download free music is the way to go for exposure, to help out people that don't have that much money, and to let your audience preview it before they buy it.

Sincerely,
Jocelyn H.
